Working in the Engineering and manufacturing sectors has recently thrown up challenges regarding a skills shortage.

H.F. Bond & Co Ltd have taken steps in an attempt to secure a talent pipeline. These measures consist of the following.

• Sales & Project Manager, Andy Heffer-Lamond becoming a T Level Ambassador.
• Becoming an Industry Partner to the local college.
• Sales & Project Manager, Andy Heffer-Lamond becoming an Enterprise Adviser to local schools.
• Sales & Project Manager, Andy Heffer-Lamond becoming a City & Guilds T Level Validator.
• Becoming a member of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce.
• Sales & Project Manager, Andy Heffer-Lamond becoming Deputy Chair of the Greater Ipswich Manufacturing Group.

As a company, we feel it is essential to be part of developing the next generation of engineers and manufacturers. By engaging with learning institutions, we have been able to identify suitable candidates to help our business prosper.

Our first T Level learner, Maliki, started with us in February 2024 and has already proven to be an asset. We will certainly be looking to take on further learners.
